Florida Chapter Members Elected to Prestigious Leadership Positions with CCIM Institute

Barbara Monahan, CCIM, has been elected to serve on the CCIM Institute’s Executive Committee. One of four members elected, she begins her two year term in January, 2018.

Monahan, a past president of the Florida Chapter, will be leading the Institute with the help of two other dedicated CCIMs from the Florida Chapter who were elected to the Institute’s 2018 Board of Directors.

Randy Krise, CCIM and Chere Roane, CCIM are now two of the 16 members of the Board. They will begin their three year term in January 2018. Both Krise, a member of the Southwest District and Roane, a member of the Central District, manage and own their own successful brokerage firms, and are also past presidents of the Florida Chapter.

“It is such an honor to be voted on to the CCIM Executive Committee,” Monahan explains. “This body is made up of the management team, Past President, President, Vice President, 1st Vice President., Treasurer and 8 members at large. They have the power of the Board of Directors between meetings to make decisions on their behalf. They meet once a month unless there is something on an urgent matter. There are also non-voting members who are a part of the committee,” she adds.

“This is not only a privilege, but also a huge responsibility to understand the workings of the Institute and the key issues and stay in tune with the needs and the wants of the membership of the Institute. There are quite a few Qualifications to run for a member at large position and it is a 2 year term,” Monahan shares.

Monahan shares that from the first time she heard about CCIM in a GRI class, she was hooked on gaining the best of the best commercial education and its prestigious designation. Barbara has been in real estate over 35 years wearing the CCIM pin for 28 plus years.

In Connecticut, she gained experience in all aspects of commercial real estate partner/owning in a boutique firm and then as the only commercial RE/MAX franchise in New England. Coming from a small town, she had to hone her skills in many commercial persuasions and is well acquainted with retail, industrial, office, multi-family, land, leasing and consulting.

Monahan brought her expertise to Naples, Florida working with a regional company and a major franchise as their Southwest Florida Commercial Director. Now at MVP Realty Naples as commercial broker, Monahan’s team covers the commercial needs of Southwest Florida. She has added international and residential members to provide additional services for her clients.
