CBRE announced that Yakhin Israel has joined CBRE Capital Markets’ Debt & Structured Finance team as senior vice president. Based in the firm’s Tampa, Florida, office, Mr. Israel will lead efforts to re-establish the mortgage banking practice in Tampa, as well as enhance the firm’s private client commercial real estate finance presence in the Southeast.
A seasoned commercial real estate finance professional with 16 years of experience, Mr. Israel has worked on more than $750 million in commercial real estate debt transactions throughout the course of his career, including originations and distressed loan portfolio management and sales. As senior vice president, Mr. Israel will offer clients a broad platform of services including bank, private, agency and life company lending and investing, as well as advisory on the financing of acquisition, development or repositioning of commercial real estate during any stage of the asset’s life cycle. He will report to Chase Pattillo, managing director, CBRE.
“Yakhin’s strong relationships within the private client commercial real estate space will be a tremendous asset to our firm,” said Mr. Pattillo. “Yakhin will enhance our market leading capabilities in corporate real estate financing services in the region and we look forward to his contributions to our national Capital Markets platform.”
Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Israel founded Twin Pillar Capital, a boutique commercial real estate capital advisory firm that focused on the southeastern United States. Previously, he spent 15 years at Fifth Third Bank, where he most recently served as vice president.
A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Mr. Israel has been a Tampa resident since 2009. He received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Denison University. He obtained his CCIM designation in 2013 and remains an active member of the Florida Chapter and West Coast District leadership teams. In addition, he currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Tampa Bay Real Estate Investment Council (REIC) and is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
