Before joining CREC, Romero worked as a Local Leasing Representative with Simon Property Group, responsible for the leasing of Dadeland Mall and the Shops at Sunset Place, providing additional leasing assistance at Miami International Mall and The Falls. Prior to Simon Property Group, Rafael was a Commercial Associate with Terranova Corporation, leasing high profile projects such as CocoWalk and the Miami Marlins Ballpark. Prior to this, he served as Assistant Property Manager for Icon Brickell Condominium, a $1.3 billion mixed use project developed by the Related Group and managed by the Continental Group.
Romero is a five year veteran of the United States Navy, having served as a command Rescue Swimmer and Navigation Specialist onboard the USS Nashville (LPD-13) during three overseas combat deployments. He holds an A.S. degree in Occupational Studies from Thomas Edison State College. He is active in various national and local professional organizations, including the National Association of Realtors, the International Council of Shopping Centers, Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) as a member of the Florida CCIM Chapter ‘s Miami District’s Board of Directors, certified SCORE mentor, Young Leaders of United Way, and other charitable organizations.
