More jobs are coming to the First Coast, thanks to the help of some North District members. Love’s Travel Stops will soon build another location on the Westside bringing about 50 jobs, most full-time positions. The 10,000 square foot store will sit on 17 acres in the northwest quadrant of the Interstate10 and U.S. Highway 301 bypass.
The travel stop will be ideal for residents and those coming in and out of the city, especially professional truck drivers. It will feature at least one quick service restaurant, more than 100 truck parking spots and seven showers. It will also be home to a Love’s Truck Tire Care facility, a perfect spot for professional truck drivers to get tire and light mechanical work.
CRES Commercial Real Estate, Inc., led by Certified Commercial Investment Members (CCIMs) Linda Daniels and Warren Tyre, brokered the deal. According to Jonathan Shields, an associate with CRES,
“Growth in the city leads to more economic development and more opportunities. We are excited to be a part of the growth on the westside interchange. We are proud to work with Love’s Travel Stops as it continues to serve residents and travelers who live, work and visit our city.”
“We’re pleased to announce construction of another travel stop in Jacksonville,” said Rick Shuffield, vice president of real estate for Love’s Travel Stops. “The intersection of Interstate 10 and U.S. Highway 301 will be a great place for us to serve leisure travelers heading to the coastal areas as well as professional truck drivers. We look forward to opening another location in Jacksonville and continuing to contribute to the economic growth of the area.”
This will be the second Love’s Travel Stop in Jacksonville. A travel stop currently sits in another major corridor, Interstate 95 near the airport. Construction on the new store is expected to begin 2019 and open in coordination with completion of the interchange construction at Interstate10 and U.S. Highway 301.
