The coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19, is a respiratory illness, which was first detected in China. As of this writing, the virus has been detected in approximately 90 locations worldwide, including the state of Florida. COVID-19 was declared a public health emergency in the state of Florida by Governor Ron DeSantis on March 1, 2020.
Although the Florida Department of Health, has stated that the risk to the public in Florida remains low, we would like to reiterate the importance of following the preventative actions from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) some of which are listed below:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (if soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol)
As CCIMs, we are constantly in close proximity to people – whether this is at property showings, meetings, closings, negotiations, etc. It is up to us to do our part and proceed with caution.
We highly recommend that you closely monitor the information distributed by the Florida Department of Healthand the CDC.
Stay safe everyone.
