2020 FL CCIM Central District’s President Amy Calandrino, CCIM shares her thoughts on winning the 2020 FL CCIM Best Overall District Award:
On reflecting on Central District’s win of the FL CCIM 2020 best district award, I can’t help but acknowledge that it was a true team effort. Without the hard work of the board, I could not have led our district through one of the most challenging times we’ve ever faced. Simply put, we rose above the chaos of around us to provide clarity and valuable information to our members.
In the words of Theodore Roosevelt: “In any moment of decision, the best you can do is the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing.”
What I felt made us most successful is that when COVID-19 hit, our board bravely realigned our goals for the year ditching the other goals we had worked so hard to put together. I told the team that we can be optimistic, but let’s move forward immediately with a new plan assuming the worst.
While our board members were all juggling additional personal and professional challenges, they dug deep to deliver value to our existing members, fundraise for those in need, recruit new members, maintain sponsor relationships, obtain new sponsorship relationships, organize and host events that broke attendance records, and more.
Our winning best district just affirms the high character of our board members and their dedication to our profession. Our 2020 team was a true class act and we sincerely appreciate the recognition.
