As we close 2024, I want to reflect on all that we have achieved during the year, express my appreciation to the phenomenal board, committee members, members, and sponsors that helped make 2024 a transformative year for CCIM Miami.
Our goal this year was to build stronger connections with members and enhance the member experience by delivering greater value in everything that we do. That required making changes, building the infrastructure, organizing, and executing around that goal.
We started by moving our Update Series luncheon venue to Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Coral Gables, doubling the seating capacity from our prior venue. We focused each Update Series program on delivering deep content in a narrow field that provides meaningful education and actionable intelligence that members can use immediately to add impactful value to clients. Attendance doubled for every event over the prior year and every event received excellent reviews from members and sponsors alike.
From actionable market intelligence to legislative issues, technical workshops, strategy, industry-segment expert panels and cross-organizational networking events with South Florida real estate industry organizations, we delivered insightful events and engaging networking opportunities that members and sponsors alike found valuable. To increase and enhance member and sponsor exposure, we also built a robust social media platform to showcase members and sponsors.
Our partnership with sponsors reached new heights in 2024 as our sponsorship base grew by fifty percent. This reflects the value that our sponsors place in our members. Sponsors are not just contributors; they truly are partners in our shared mission and play a key role in helping make everything that we do possible.
To ensure CCIM Miami’s continued growth, we implemented a robust succession plan to chart a defined path for long-term success. The dedication of our Board of Directors has been instrumental in the development and building of this foundation.
One of the most meaningful achievements in 2024 was the fundraising effort for the Danny Zelonker Named Education Scholarship. As of December 31st, we have raised $11,634, and we are just $866 away from the $12,500 goal, a testament to the kindness and generosity of our members and sponsors, and their commitment to honoring a valued colleague that has made an invaluable contribution to CCIM Miami.
Lastly, we have solidified plans and raised the bar for flagship events and built on an expanded partnership with Florida International University. That relationship now includes holding our flagship annual commercial real estate outlook conference at FIU’s Graham Center and, starting in 2025, holding CCIM classes at FIU’s Brickell Campus downtown.
If an organization’s success is measured by a single metric, are people moving toward or away from the organization; by that singular measure, 2024 has been a very successful year for CCIM Miami. Membership is up, a whole new crop of members and sponsors have stepped forward to join committees and play key roles on our board, and new sponsors are joining us because they want to be a part of CCIM Miami.
If has been my great honor to serve as president of CCIM Miami. Thank you for the trust that you placed in my hands and for helping make 2024 a great year for CCIM Miami. Join us. Let’s make 2025 another great year!
Sincerely,
Robert Palacios, MBA, CCIM
