Airfield Tour (Maximum 40 participants)
The Airfield Tour Program is an opportunity to see Tampa International Airport like you’ve never seen it before.
From our mini-bus, watch for arriving and departing aircraft as we drive along the airport service roads where you’ll learn about:
- Airfield Maintenance
- Air Cargo
- Firefighter Training
- Fuel Farm
- Aircraft Maintenance Hangars
- Airport Fire Station
- General Aviation Facilities
Your experienced guide will talk about the instrument landing system, runways, and taxiways while you watch planes land and take off. The tour includes a visit to the airport fire station to learn firsthand from the crew what it takes to be an airport firefighter while taking an up-close look at the special Aircraft Rescue and firefighting vehicles.
Behind the Scenes Guided Tour (Unlimited participants, in groups of 20)
Are you excited about going to the airport for a flight? Would you like to take a look at what goes on behind the scenes at an international airport?
If so, take advantage of Tampa International Airport’s Guided Tour. You will follow the path of arriving and departing passengers in the Main Terminal as you learn about:
- History of TPA
- Structure and design of TPA
- Public Art Program
- Airport security enhancements
- Baggage Handling System
During this walking tour, your experienced, professional guide will take you to visit all three levels of the Main Terminal. You will also learn about the Airside/Landside concept that makes Tampa International Airport one of “America’s Favorite Airports.” You will also get a sneak peek into our Baggage Handling Control room to see how thousands of bags a day move from the ticket counter to the waiting aircraft.
